# Melvea Agent API

Citation-backed honey intelligence: structured varietal data and verifiable
research provenance for 157+ honey varieties, including the obscure long
tail. Every compositional datum resolvable to a real, published source.

## Endpoints (metered via x402, USDC on Base)
- GET https://api.melvea.com/v1/catalog
  Structured catalog of 157 honey varieties: color grade (USDA Pfund band)
  with pfund value + measured/estimated source, intensity, flavor profile,
  texture, use cases and best-for pairing tags, primary/secondary countries,
  and a per-variety citation_count pointing into the paid citations endpoint.
- GET https://api.melvea.com/v1/varieties/{slug}/citations
  Per-variety research citations backing compositional + sensory data; each
  resolvable to a real published source (DOI/PMID).
- GET https://api.melvea.com/v1/producers
  Local producer directory — filter ~550 beekeepers by country, state, proximity
  (lat/lon radius), or honey type. Location, terroir, ratings, socials, story;
  purchasable_via signals agent-native checkout. At least one filter required.
- POST https://api.melvea.com/v1/recommend
  Grounded honey recommendations from a flavor/use/occasion intent (taste, not health).
- GET https://api.melvea.com/v1/editorial/index  (free)
  Editorial index — Melvea Fine Print explainers + curated external news (attribution-only).
- GET https://api.melvea.com/v1/editorial/{slug}
  Full Melvea-authored article (markdown) with entity pointers into the paid surfaces.
